Face and Neck Lift
After a correct lift one should look rejuvenated, but not “lifted”.
For the correction of wrinkles, jowls, folds of the neck etc. a wide spectrum of treatment modalities is available. So called “minimally invasive techniques” and short scars are preferred. The facelift will be individualized according to the desires of the patient and the given anatomy.
It varies from a “mini-neck lift”, an endoscopic brow, forehead and mid face lift to a two layer lift , which tightens also the underlying soft tissue layers and the muscles (SMAS) . These procedures give a natural look, don’t interfere with mimetic expressions and are long lasting. The scars are hidden within the hair baring scalp and the ear. Any face lift modality may be combined or augmented by an eyelid correction, dermabrasion, peeling, laser treatment or bolstering of deep furrows and lips with fat injection or synthetic fillers (hyaluronic acid).
An individual plan of treatment will be established. Minor procedures will be performed on an outpatient (ambulatory) basis. For extended operations one or two nights in the hospital are advisable. You may chose between full anaesthesia and local anaesthesia with sedation by a qualified anaesthetist. The postoperative follow-up requires normally 8 – 10 days. Most of the swelling and bruising will have subsided by then. No head bandages are applied.
The hair will be shampooed on the 2nd day after the operation, so you may socialize soon.
