Abnormalities of shape and posture of ears (i.e. protruding/bat ears) should be corrected early in childhood (after 6 years of age) for psycho-social reasons.
The operation is done under general or even local anaesthesia mostly as an outpatient treatment. An ear bandage must be worn for 1 week for protection. Sportive activities are allowed after 10 days.
